This week I would like to introduce you to some of my own Halloween themed pieces. I have grouped them by level, and I even include some fun Halloween duets! Take a listen, if you dare! Click on the title to see where to purchase the music.
Today, I will be featuring piano solos and a duet for intermediate and advanced students!
| In the Valley of the Kings This spooky early intermediate piece is inspired by the Valley of the Kings, the site of many of the tombs of the ancient Egyptian pharoahs. | |
| Mountain King Rag This fun ragtime piece is a playful nod to Grieg’s “In the Hall of the Mountain King.” A perfect early intermediate showcase solo for Halloween, or any time of year! | |
| The Siren This advanced piano solo is inspired by the nocturnes of Chopin and Barber and depicts the seductive but deadly song of the siren, a creature who according to legend lured countless sailors to their deaths. | |
| Midnight Scherzo This intermediate level piano duet is a showstopper! The use of hand crossings, glissandos, and grace notes give this scherzo a virtuosic sound, however the music is carefully written for the intermediate student and fits under the hands well. | |
