Free Practice Packets for Students

3/17/2020

Many of us have switched (or are making preparations to switch) to distance learning over the coming weeks due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Today I am sharing 6 free practice packets that I have put together for my own students to use during this time.

Each practice packet contains a music history worksheet, a listening activity, a theory page, and an arrangement by a famous composer. These packets are designed to be used in conjunction with the free materials on the Classics for Kids website HERE (a great resource to share with your students as well).

It is my hope that sharing these materials will ease a bit of the burden that many teachers are facing in the coming weeks. Feel free to share these practice packets with your students or with other teachers who you think might find them helpful. Stay well!

Thank you for this generous gift! I’ve made a point of only using original rather than any simplified pieces with students but also remember how I became acquainted with some back when I had lessons growing up with Schaum method. I will use these. Thanks again

You are welcome, Susan! I plan on using these to encourage my students to explore these composers and their music during this time when they need activities to keep them busy at home. My best to you and your students!

Thanks so much for sharing these as I do Group Musicianship Classes 3 times each semester and we focus on a composer each time based on those featured in the Piano Explorer magazine by Clavier Companion.

I was just looking for something like this to do. Thank you, the school district where some of the kids I teach is closed, but has not set up video learning. So parents are now looking for things for there children to do. This will be great!

Thank you so much! Music history is always lacking in my piano lessons. Now there may be time for digging into a bit more history. Love these! You are appreciated!
