Today's post features a play-by-ear challenge worksheet for students, featuring several familiar Christmas tunes. As with all the play-by-ear worksheets, I encourage my students to do the following steps:

Today's post features a play-by-ear challenge worksheet for students, featuring several familiar Christmas tunes. As with all the play-by-ear worksheets, I encourage my students to do the following steps:
- Sing the tune, and use your hands to identify whether the notes go up or down.
- Once you know which direction the notes are going, sing the tune again to identify steps, skips, fourths, or fifths.
- Starting on the given note, play the tune on the piano. Write the letter names of each note on the lines given.
- Finally, draw the notes on the staff. For an extra challenge, see if you can play the next phrase of the song!
