The fall semester is officially underway!

Today I am sharing some of my favorite original pieces, arrangements, and teaching activities that will help you to harness the excitement of the upcoming holidays to motivate your students!

Fall and Halloween Repertoire
1. Pumpkin Smash is a lively duet for 2 elementary students with a surprise ending that both students and audiences will love!

2. Mummy Mambo is a mysterious solo for elementary piano that explores the low notes on the piano.

3. Autumn Reverie is a lovely, fall-themed piece that serves as a stepping stone to the works of Chopin for early intermediate students.

4. Appalachian Rhapsody is a dramatic showstopper for intermediate pianists that was inspired by the beautiful fall colors of the Appalachian Mountains in my home state of North Carolina.

1. The "Falling Leaves" composing project 
is a great way to kick off the school year! This PDF download includes an instruction sheet with tips on how to scale this activity up or down in difficulty depending on the level of the student.

Winter Repertoire

1. Winter Sleigh Bells is a sparkling, evenly-leveled duet for two elementary pianists.

2. First Snowfall is an elegant, contemporary duet that is evenly-leveled for two late elementary pianists.

3. Beneath a Winter Moon is a lyrical, late elementary solo with a contemporary sound.

4. Winter Winds is a dramatic, pattern-based solo for early intermediate piano.

Christmas Repertoire

1. Rock Those Halls!: mid- to late elementary students get the chance to rock out with this exciting arrangement of the traditional song "Deck the Halls."

2. Whispers of Winter is an exciting medley for late elementary piano that weaves together five beloved holiday songs into one recital-worthy duet.

3. A beloved Christmas carol is combined with one of Rachmaninoff's most famous piano works in this unique early to mid-intermediate piano arrangement of the Ukrainian Bell Carol.

4. Rompin' Reindeer is a light-hearted take on the the classic Christmas song "Up on the Housetop" for intermediate to late intermediate pianists.
